About the Role: We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Quality Team. The role will be to manage Supplier Quality and Contract Manufacturing and provide SQE expertise while collaborating with GORE internal teams and functions (e.g. Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales, etc), and to support business requirements for the supply of component parts or services.

This position offers the option to work on-site at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with flexible work from home options available. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, meaning you could work remote part of the time, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.*

Responsibilities: 
Support the business with regards management and direction from Quality perspective with regards to Supplier Quality and Contract Manufacturing
Participate in Supplier/Contract Manufacturer development and validation activities where required
Participate in development projects and own work packages, including raw material specifications and incoming inspection test plans
Report and collaborate with other stakeholders to improve effectiveness of the quality processes in support of the Supplier Management Systems/Function
Verify and understand supplier quality issues, manage and coordinate supplier complaints along with other team members, and provide status updates to Gore internal functions
Determine adequate containment activities in accordance with internal and/or external requirements and guarantee the implementation of corrective actions and improvements

 


Required Qualifications: 
Minimum 3 years working experience in a quality engineering role, ideally in the aerospace or space industry
Experience in Supplier Quality Role with Contract Manufacturing being highly desirable
Lead Auditor Certified or experience
Familiar with AS9100/ISO9001 and comparable quality standards
Strong technical and analytical background
Excellent communication skills
Willing to participate in early morning or evening business calls
Ablility to understand and apply engineering fundamentals
Ability to travel up to 10-30% depending upon business needs

This position requires access to information or items that are export controlled under U.S. law. The successful candidate will be a "U.S. person" (meaning a person who is a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States or an asylee or refugee protected by U.S. law) or any offer will be conditioned upon Gore obtaining export control authorization for the candidate under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), as required by the position. 

*Remote Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore's remote working policies, from the country in which they are employed. Locations not eligible for new remote work arrangements include: Alaska and Hawaii (for all roles), and Rhode Island (for wage/hourly roles only).
