As a scientist in the Chemistries and Supplies Division, you will join a team of scientists that primarily focus on developing the next generation of advanced liquid chromatography media and column chemistries! This work will enable sample preparation, separation and analysis of biomolecules- such as therapeutic proteins. That includes glycans, oligonucleotides, vaccines, and vectors for gene therapy!
This position requires a candidate with outstanding agility and problem-solving skills. Our team is looking for someone who can quickly adapt to the demands of rapidly developing, multifaceted projects and work in collaboration with premier colleagues, both internally and externally.
A M.S. degree in organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, or material sciences is required in conjunction with 5+ years of relevant experience for entry into this position. A Ph.D. degree in the same subject areas is preferred.
Additional competencies include:
Expertise in organic or polymer synthesis with a demonstrated track record of novel research, experience in developing Liquid Chromatography bonded-phase (i.e. silane) chemistries is highly desired
Proficiency in processes and methods for applying liquid phase surface coatings. Familiarity with analytical surface characterization techniques.
Ability to properly document work to allow the recovery of experimental data
Ability to prepare presentations, technical reports, summaries, procedures and protocols
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lead a multidisciplinary project team.
