Sr. Director, Data Engineering

We seek a proven, influential data leader who can flawlessly execute on existing commitments while constantly pushing the envelope by working back from the customer to identify opportunities to elevate data as a product, enable new business opportunities through game-changing data capabilities, and find ways to partner seamlessly with other leaders across FS Tech & Data and the Financial Services business to leverage data and data technologies to help change banking for good. The right individual will be responsible for our existing portfolio of data producer and data consumer tools, while building and creating the strategy necessary to pave the way for data in the future.

We are looking for a well-rounded leader that can equally balance tech, risk, and customer needs to deliver outstanding, win-win outcomes through data and data products. The ideal candidate should have a deep passion for data and a balance of technology, product, and general management skills to successfully lead a broad cross-functional team of product, project, process, data, and software engineers to deliver on a comprehensive data strategy.

Oversee a cross-functional team of project, process, and product and guide data and software engineers

Assume ownership of our existing portfolio of more than 2 dozen data producer and consumer products

Connect directly with the users of our data products and their leaders to understand pain points, opportunities, and anticipate future needs

Identify and establish strong analytical and result-oriented processes, such as reporting to drive accountability and voice of the customer to guide our product and data engineering teams

Leverage customer input along with risk and tech requirements to develop clear objectives and strategic goals for both the short-term and the long-term for data producer and consumer products

Represent Financial Services data capability and technology needs to partner teams across the Enterprise

Develop deep relationships with similar teams across the Enterprise to align, collaborate, and influence on shared goals around data

Implement a consistent, repeatable, and matured delivery process (SAFe Agile preferred) to deliver business value quickly.

Devise and implement a comprehensive and structured approach to data consistency and verification.
