Job Description

JPMorgan Chase & Co. has an opening for a Software Engineering position in its Wilmington, DE office.

JOB DUTIES: Participate in the full lifecycle development of applications, from designing interface to implementation. Develop web services to publish messages to system of records. Participate in Agile activities, such as sprint planning and user story reviews. Develop web service contracts with constraints and key references. Develop scripts to cluster server logs and configure applications for use with databases. Develop unit test cases, functional test cases, and test clients. Develop health checks and security monitors to track application health in production. Configure queues and topics and develop tables for asynchronous communication with core mainframe applications. Build automated regression test case suite. Develop interactive web pages. Provide production support and triage and resolve production issues. Participate in performance testing and application performance tuning activities. Create monitoring dashboards and alerts. Configure continuous development and continuous deployment pipelines. Develop and deploy cloud-native applications. Implement application security. Support peer reviews. Mentor and train junior developers.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Programmer Analyst, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will accept pre- or post-master’s degree experience. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience in lieu of a Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS: This position requires experience in the following: Java; building REST Application Programming Interfaces; SQL and NoSQL Databases; SOAP; RESTful-based Spring web services; web services in JSON, XML, and XSD; UNIX scripting; Oracle or Cassandra Database; JUnit and Mockito frameworks; IBM MQ; Cucumber; web development in Spring MVC framework, HTML, Ajax, CSS, and JavaScript; performance testing and tuning tools, including Jmeter, Blazemeter, or Dynatrace; creating monitoring dashboards and alerts in Splunk; Jenkins; Pivotal Cloud Foundry; and application security using Active Directory Federation Service and OAUTH. Experience in the skills required may be gained through pre- or post-master’s degree experience.
