Guidehouse seeks a Project Director Managing Consultant for our VA Team supporting the Office of Information Technology (OIT) team! OIT operates a Product Line Management (PLM) model to complement their Development Security Operations (DevSecOps) approach to product management, software delivery, and overall IT support. This Office currently supports 450 products within eight (8) Product Lines and two (2) Product Offices. Guidehouse is looking for individuals to direct diverse IT projects both large and small and who are well versed in full systems development life cycle, enterprise-wide network engineering, strategic information planning, business process reengineering, and management practices. As a Project Director Managing Consultant, you will use your knowledge of health information and technology to improve the experience of OIT customers, enable OIT to deploy new systems and update existing systems more quickly and frequently, and lower costs by leveraging industry best practices and innovation. As OIT continues its organizational transformation, the number of initiatives and products to be supported is expected to further expand and mature. As part of Guidehouse’s VA account leadership, you will have the opportunity to shape the firm’s future and direction. Job Description/Responsibilities:

+ Provide strategic and programmatic support for the OIT Health Services Portfolio at the portfolio, product line, and product level.

+ Work with senior client leadership to identify, plan, implement, and execute support for the Health Services Portfolio’s strategic priorities, including design strategy review of all design efforts to ensure consistency and unity across portfolio.

+ Identify and mitigate risks and manage to cost, schedule, and performance.

+ Lead continuous process improvement and innovation initiatives to ensure the successful execution of OIT’s strategic goals.

+ Provide support to senior client senior leadership through the creation of briefings and reports, facilitation of reoccurring meetings, and provision of ad hoc research support.

+ Support VA cross functional teams and provide daily active collaboration and feedback for the OIT Health Services Portfolio’s goals, scope, requirements, costs, schedule, and risks.

+ Provide synergy and consistent support through each of the support layers within the Health Services Portfolio.

+ Ensure cross functional team awareness of the work being completed throughout the Portfolio and implement solutions in a consistent, cohesive manner in alignment with Health Services Portfolio goals.

+ Employ VA’s approved methodologies to support the Health Services Portfolio to include, but not limited to, Product Line Management, SAFe Agile, DevSecOps, and VIP while supporting the cross functional teams.

+ Ensure efficiencies are leveraged across product lines and throughout the Health Services Portfolio.


Required: The Project Director Managing Consultant must have:

+ Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related scientific /technical discipline.

+ Years of Experience: 15 years. 10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education

+ Ability to obtain a Public Trust

+ Experience managing projects with complex data requirements using Agile and DevSecOps methodologies

+ Detailed knowledge of the software development lifecycle and network engineering at the enterprise level

+ Strong analytical and investigative skills for crafting solutions to challenging problems/issues, supporting business process reengineering efforts, and designing improvements to current policies


+ Federal consulting experience

+ Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs or Military Health

+ Core skills and capabilities include:

+ Strong analytic skills/capabilities

+ Highly organized and detail-oriented

+ Strong communicator, in both speech and writing

+ Excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills

+ Comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively with clients and colleagues

+ Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

Additional Requirements

This role is available virtually from the Pacific, Mountain, Central, or Eastern time zones. Preference will be given to candidates local to Washington, DC.
