Job Summary

Our civil, mechanical, electrical, and construction professionals worldwide bring localized knowledge of designing, building and permitting associated infrastructure.

The Construction Project Manager position at Black and Veatch would be responsible for all aspects of small to medium Engineering Procurement Construction or Design Build(EPC)/Service projects, including risk to cost, schedule, quality. They oversee the successful execution of contracted engineering, procurement, and construction scope in the areas of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction. Provides for the successful staffing of the project. This position manages and leads medium sized teams of multi-discipline professionals, as well as coordinates and integrates the activities associated with the engineering, procurement, construction, and startup elements of the project team, including the activities of all third-party companies contributing to the initiative.

As a member of the Commercial team you would have the opportunity to work with the industry’s leading professionals. Many of our data center professionals have been recognized with the Accredited Tier Designer certification from The Uptime Institute, the IT industry’s most trusted and adopted global standard for the proper design, build and operation of data centers. The Uptime Institute focuses on improving the redundancy, performance and efficiency of data center infrastructure.

TRAVEL REQURIEMENT:Professional must be willing to travel up totwice a month for around 3 days at a time (could fluctuate up or down).

Key Responsibilities

Understand B&V functional organizations and interfaces. Understand constructability concepts. Assists with project forecasting.


•Maintains Project Cost Report and Cash Flow w/ Super.

•Assists with input to monthly/quarterly Reports.

•Facilitates quantity management reporting.

•Maintains Change Management Program.

•Assists providing invoice back-up.


•Assists in preparation of summary schedule.

•Assists in schedule maintenance and resource loading.

•Prepares & maintains productivity reports.

•Assists in critical path and float analysis.


Management Responsibilities

Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project.

Preferred Qualifications

•Prefer four-year bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management

•5+ years of relevant experience in Commercial Construction Project Management

•Data Center Design Building, GMP, Lump Sum experience desired

Minimum Qualifications

+ Bachelor of science degree or equivalent relevant work experience required.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation). Sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods of time, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
