Trust Tax Accountant

WSFS Bank is currently seeking a Trust Tax accountant to provide day to day support to Bryn Mawr Trust of Delware. The incumbent will be responsible for the tax compliance of personal and corporate trust accounts. This position will also assist in providing accurate, professional, and confidential communication with administrators and other internal departments, and outside accountants/advisors when responding to requests or providing support.

The group more specifically works with IRS 1041 filings, tax reporting filing such as 1099s, 1042s, FBAR, and analysis of W-9 and W-8s. This position is responsible for completion and review of the multiple processes including new account openings and closings, follow-up with exceptions, trust account updates and asset update changes. The incumbent will also be responsible for the remittance of tax payments and paper tax returns to various tax authorities, including the use of electronic filing systems such as EFTPS and FINCEN. Other responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, correcting, and inputting client tax information for tax systems while tracking the status of the tax returns and other documentation with authorities including the resolution of tax notices.

This is a full time, 40 hour per week, Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm position that requires evening and weekend hours during tax season, located at either our Trust office on Carr Road in Wilmington, DE or Berwyn, PA.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business-related field
  • Some relevant accounting, tax, or legal experience
  • The ability to learn and develop familiarity with trust tax forms including forms 1041, 1099, 1042, W-9 and W-8
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal colleagues and external clients/advisors.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A background in foreign tax issues, such as FATCA, CRS, and forms 3520 and FBARs
  • Knowledge of IRS filing systems, such as EFTPS and FIRE
  • Familiarity with tax software (OneSource), trust accounting software (Trust 3000), and TranStar
