The incumbent is responsible for managing and overseeing the agency responsibilities regarding supplies, fleet and agency vehicles, safety, worker’s comp, procurement and contracting. Tasks involve the development, management and oversight of centralized contracts used to consolidate the procurement of common goods, materiel, and non-professional services. Work also involves statewide consultation services for agencies procurement activities, to include agency unique contracts and professional service contracts.
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Contract Procurement Officer
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Experience in procurement services which includes purchasing goods and services in accordance with procurement procedures and contract specifications.
- Experience in contract management and control which includes ensuring compliance with terms of contracts; negotiating changes to existing contracts; problem solving; etc.
- Experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of developing contracts for procurement of goods and services including researching and writing specifications, analyzing bids and recommending contract award.
