Job Description


The Senior Application Architect designs and develops IT applications architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Senior Application Architect work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.


The Senior Application Architect performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent applications. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or Electrical Engineering or related fields.

+ 7 or more years of product development experience in a regulated space and preferably in the health care area. Lesser years of experience maybe considered based on education and professional experience.

+ 3 or more years as architect/senior developer and experience in architecting complex products that needs to fit within an ecosystem.

+ Has led/been a part of digital transformation initiatives preferably in the Healthcare space that involves some of the following: Cloud, Mobile, Web

+ Proven experience in architecting/developing systems based on microservice architectures.

+ Has experience with various web and mobile technologies including backend technologies, preferably using .NET, C#, and SQL.

+ Has experience in one or more of the cloud platforms: AWS, Azure or GCP.

+ Proven expertise in working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where the teams are multi-disciplinary.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Has proven ability to work with geographically distributed teams and can work with teams with diverse background and experience.

+ Strong mentorship skills

Preferred Qualifications

+ Master’s degree is preferred.

Additional Information

Humana Vaccination Statement

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Work-At-Home Requirements

+ WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

+ Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

+ A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
