The Radio Frequency (RF) Applications Program Leader is tasked with leading projects and engaging with customers for materials designated for High Speed and High Frequency applications. As part of a team, they will focus on the technical and engineering challenges faced by OEMs, Tier 1 manufacturers, and fabricators in high growth areas such as 5G Telecom/Datacenters and Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). He/she will provide the technical support in the RF design and engineering and work alongside materials research and development and application development team members internally as well as external counterparts at key OEMs and PCB Fabricators to solve technical challenges.


· The primary responsibility of this position is to provide technical expertise and customer engagement in the areas of RF frequency or high speed high frequency application space

· Manage and lead through influence product application projects with a high performing, cross functional team

· Initiate, Define and follow project management methods, procedures, and quality objectives, including metrics for assessing progress.

· Be the technical expert in RF engineering discipline to provide technical and prototype design and fabrication support

· Collaborate with project team, including scheduling, assignment of work, reviews of project efforts, and removal of roadblocks which inhibit project success. Coordinate with the functional management for resources required to complete tasks.

· Maintain appropriate professional training and practices and up-to-date knowledge of current RF engineering technology techniques and tools

· Serve as the key interface with customers and manage the customer engagements

· Work with sales and marketing team to identify new growth opportunities and use RF engineering technical knowledge to assess opportunities and develop solutions for the customer.

· Have strong communication and documentation skills on test data and results to support the testing one conducts.

Key success factors in this role are the RF engineering expertise, the ability to work with cross functional team to provide technical and project level guidance.

Education, Experience, Competencies

· Formal training in electrical engineering with RF/HF specialization (MS degree minimum) with 3+ years of experience in the industries in a technical role with project management experience

· Working knowledge of electrical design aspects including circuit design and circuit layout for printed circuit boards, components, and assembly processes.

· Knowledgeable in design for manufacturability and assembly processes and volume manufacturing implications of design decisions.

· Fluent in Solid Works, AutoCAD or other design software

· Capable to design using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software tools such as Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, CST Microwave Studio, IE3D, Sonnet, Comsol, or equivalent tools

· Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

· Hands-on experience with test and metrology equipment such a Vector Network Analyzer, Time Domain Refectometer and dielectric measurement fixtures such as SPDR, Split Cylinder.

· Familiarity with common industry standards in electronic packaging (ASTM, IPC, MIL).

· Experience in working and interfacing with electrical designers

· Demonstrate a detail oriented, hands-on and proactive approach to solving tough design challenges while engaging all necessary resources to keep tasks on track and meet deliverables.

· Experience in risk and change management

· Experience in a “influence management” role or related internal consultancy role

· Strong knowledge of project management techniques, tools, and management techniques

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong base capability in analytical and data related tools (excel, power point, MS project).

· Willingness to travel 25% of the time


• Experience working with OEMs, Tier 1s, fabricators and materials suppliers (highly desirable)

• Understanding of the considerations for electronic packaging solutions for 5G/RF/microwave products (Multi-Chip Modules, Hybrids, etc.) intended for high reliability and harsh environmental applications.

• Experience managing projects involving the manufacture of electronic materials or components

• Six Sigma Black Belt certification

• 3 years’ experience with financial analysis, business, and product line performance measures

• 3 years’ operations, manufacturing technical, six sigma, or marketing leadership experience
