Job Description

The Firmwide Data Quality team supports the Firmwide Chief Data Officer (CDO), and Line of Business/Corporate Function CDOs, for the governance of Data Quality risk. The Data Quality Lead is responsible for implementing the firmwide approach for Data Quality issue documentation, analysis, and remediation. The successful candidate is experienced in Data Quality issue management and will join a team focused on delivering business impact through improvement of the central Data Quality issue management process. The individual in this role will be responsible for delivering strategic business objectives as defined by the firmwide CDO by leveraging project management skills/approaches and engagement with business and technology stakeholders. Critical tasks include daily advisory support for our stakeholders across the firm, the development of Data Quality metrics, and evolving the standard operating procedures, processes, and associated tooling to drive adoption and enable implementation of firmwide Data Quality issue management requirements. This role is part of the Firmwide Data Management (FDM) organization and will interface heavily with technology, control, business, and CDO partners.

Key responsibilities:

+ Lead communication of Data Quality issue governance across the firm including:

+ Implementation of revised firmwide Data Quality approach to support the Data Risk Management Policy and Standard

+ Coordination of technology stakeholders (e.g., DQ Product Team and Technology Partners) to deliver the tooling updates required to facilitate implementation

+ Lead engagement with business, Technology, CDOs, and Controls

+ Oversee and guide the evolution of tools that support Data Quality issue management

+ Develop and enhance Data Quality metrics

+ Support Lines of Business & Corporate Functions, Governance Forums, and Senior Management requests for reporting/progress – including contributing to and/or leading meetings with stakeholders of varying levels of seniority

+ Facilitate timely resolution of pressing matters; coordinate and participate in deep dive sessions, where necessary

+ Contribute to the development and execution of the Firmwide Data Quality strategy

+ Partner with Controls organization to develop Data Quality processes in the context of managing Operational Risk, as required

+ Perform project management and business analysis on other Data Quality-related projects, as required

+ Use creative thinking to help establish a culture of Data Quality across the firm (e.g., meeting materials, communications, training materials, infographics)

+ Communicate changes and project performance throughout the organization

Qualifications:

+ Minimum six (6) years of experience in leading programs in financial services

+ Minimum two (2) years of experience with managing issues stemming from poor Data Quality (timeliness, completeness, accuracy of data)

+ Proven leader and influencer with the ability to think on their feet and the ability to apply critical thinking to shape the program’s approach

+ Strategic and forward thinker

+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze large data sets to draw conclusions

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate complex ideas, concepts, and solutions at the senior management level

+ Excellent strategic and interpersonal skills; comfort with partnering with and influencing people at all levels and across all functional areas (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Controls, Technology, and business operations)

+ Ability to work through ambiguity to reach conclusions

+ Intermediate to Advanced Excel and PowerPoint design skills

+ Ability to effectively develop and lead projects/experience in project management

+ Experience with writing guidance documents and/or procedures to be used by a wide range of users

+ Demonstrated ability to conceive, design, and implement business process improvements that increase efficiency and improve the risk and control environment

+ Effective change management skills; ability to support & adapt within a changing environment

+ Self-starter; able to work autonomously with discipline

+ Ability to work under pressure to deliver multiple business demands on-time with high quality

+ Ability to think laterally and convey an understanding of the big picture

+ Understanding of the firm’s business practices and familiarity with the firm’s products and services

+ Preferred: Experience with Qlikview and/or Tableau
