Do you have a background in Materials Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Polymers and do you want to lead a team of scientists developing differentiated products? Then you might be the person we are looking for!

We are currently looking for a Materials Sciences R&D Manager to join the Chemistries and Supplies Division (CSD) R&D team that's taking world-leading Agilent products from design to production. Reporting to the Associate VP of R&D for CSD, you will be a technically- and results-oriented manager who thrives on leading a global team of talented science and engineering professionals developing many types of separation products for chromatography and immunoassays. This team spans across our R&D facilities in the UK, the Netherlands and US.

Working closely with the Project Managers, Marketing leaders, and factory operations, you will guide the Materials Sciences R&D team to develop and launch innovative products to help create solutions defined by voice-of-customer requirements and aligned to the business strategy. You will be responsible for a global organizational unit that spans multiple R&D departments and a variety of technical disciplines. In addition to a track record of delivering innovative products to market, you will have a demonstrated disciplined approach to R&D with an appreciation for design control processes, customer requirements, design for manufacturing, open innovation, and experience in launching products within a gated investment process to ISO9000 industry standards and procedures.
As Materials Sciences R&D Manager, you will:
Be responsible for the technical quality of all R&D execution of the Materials Sciences team ensuring R&D commitments are met on time, within budget and according to product specifications.
Utilize dynamic and agile resources planning techniques to ensure the manpower and resources in the team are balanced and assigned to the highest priority projects and initiatives. Effectively manage and communicate the status of resources deployment and availability against overall priorities.
Collaborate with business and product marketing leadership in contributing to evolving the vision for innovative product and workflow solutions that drive customer value, efficiency and productivity.
Ensure formal design reviews, and appropriate R&D documentation procedures are completed within the teams and controlled according to the R&D processes and quality expectations within R&D management as a routine process. Ensure that products are developed with "design for manufacturing" in mind.
Lead a diversified and dynamic Materials Sciences team by developing staff, skills, and processes. Mentor team members by providing career development goals, professional development and driving continuous improvement of all Departmental activities while adapting skills and process to the ever-evolving business needs through training and development of all members of the Department.
