Research Investigator, Inflammation & Autoimmunity
The successful candidate will contribute extensively to research and drug discovery efforts aimed at the identification and development efforts of novel targets/pathways with potential to make a transformational impact on the lives of patients in need. A passion for applying state of the art technologies and scientific insights to develop high quality therapeutics is a key requirement for the role.
Independently design, execute and interpret biologically relevant assays to interrogate mechanistic biology underpinning inflammatory diseases of interest
Apply scientific expertise and know how to support research activities and propose innovative solutions for drug discovery campaigns
Generate, review, and interpret complex multi component data sets from a variety of sources to advance discovery programs
Show proficiency in the execution of cellular and molecular laboratory techniques with state of the art technologies
Responsible for maintaining a quality record of all data generated and communicating results
Have the ability to work independently in experimental design and execution while fostering collegial team interactions with colleagues
Effectively communicates concepts, experimental designs and results to peers, supervisor, department and at a company-wide level
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
Strong background in immunology, cell biology or similar discipline (PhD; or equivalent)
In-depth knowledge of molecular (RT-PCR, Nanostring, and others) and cellular technologies (cell culture and sterile technique, ELISA and equivalent technologies);
Motivated team player, able to perform with a high degree of independence
Creative, highly innovative scientist with a passion for delivering quality medicines to patients
Ability to balance execution of multiple tasks to accomplish program goals
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience with human immunology and/or prior industry experience
Extensive experience using multicolor flow cytometry
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
An interest in working in and creating an environment of scientific curiosity and open exchange of ideas.
