Job Description

WSFS Bank is seeking a Talent Development Manager. The Talent Development Manager is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting the Leadership Development program and Succession Plan process. The Leadership Development program will manage assessments for high potential ("HiPo") identification, creating objectives to develop leadership competencies and experiential learning opportunities. The incumbent will work across the enterprise to execute leadership and associate development programs consistent with the Bank's strategic priorities to impact business results. The incumbent will develop and manage the Leadership Development program to establish the following: a talent pipeline, track development actions, assess the impact and recommend measures for continuous improvement to keep the Leadership Development program relevant and impactful. This includes oversight design and selection of the technology, tools, and processes, as well as developing staff to meet future needs of the organization. The Talent Development Manager will provide thoughts, strategic design expertise, and project execution leadership in the following disciplines: Talent Planning, Movement and Succession Management, Executive Leadership Assessment and Development; Coaching and Performance Management; and Associate Career Development. The incumbent will architect, shape, and design a full suite of Associate talent development strategies, processes, and tools to develop and retain high-performing associates. Additional responsibilities include:
  • Provide stellar service to all internal Customers
  • Provide professional expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of the talent review process that is required to achieve business goals and results in the creation of an internal bench of top talent and leadership development
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain data gathered to inform targeted leadership development (e.g., succession planning)
  • Develop, maintain, track, andreport on goals, progress, and program metrics
  • Develop a communication plan to keep stakeholders abreast of process and progress
  • Create and maintain an environment of equal employment opportunity, diversity, and competitive advantage in support of the company's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy
  • Conduct presentations, facilitates training, and converses with HiPo’s on career pathing options
  • Ensure that organization-wide talent management and development initiatives are focused and aligned on improving operational and program efficiencies and effectiveness
  • Develop and implement creative and innovative program strategies and techniques to develop a pipeline of qualified candidates, including designing Associate training programs, building succession plans, talent heat maps, business and talent gap analysis and crafting an internal promotion process
  • Partners with HR leadership team to analyze and align on strategies and processes as needed
  • Incorporates a variety of training and learning methodologies in delivery and design of curriculum to foster participant engagementand appeal to all learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, linguistic, interpersonal, and intrapersonal)
  • Actively participates in a learning professional association to keep abreast of training trends, industry best practices and to further skill development
  • Other duties as assigned

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, located in our Bank Center office in Wilmington, DE.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field is required
  • 8+ years of Talent Management experience with a focus on leadership development and succession planning is required. Banking experience is strongly preferred
  • Facilitation Certification or Human Resources designated Certification is preferred
  • Must have recent experience in designing, developing a sustainable and scalable organization-wide talent development program comprising of leadership development, succession planning, Associate development including, but not limited to data analytics
  • Understanding of adult learning theory and techniques, as well as Organizational Development (OD) theory and techniques including understanding full cycle recruiting with a strategic mindset to develop a skilled workforce
  • Must have the ability to exercise the usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations
  • Must have the ability to supervise or direct the work of a team of Learning facilitators
  • Acts as an internal consultant for all levels of the internal hierarchy of WSFS pertaining to all matters related to Talent Development
  • Must be current on the existing and upcoming trends of the industry to support the talent management program
  • Must have general business management skills as well as business acumen
  • Must have effective leadership and coaching skills
  • Must have excellent personal and project management skills, as well as excellent data analysis and evaluation skills
  • Must have excellent problem-solving ability, strong analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Must have a high level of professionalism interacting with all levels of management to build relationships
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products
