At TA Instruments the Traffic Tech position is essential to our Distribution Team in order to ensure our world class customer service.

 


Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to

 

Reviews open customer orders and generates pick-lists to fill the orders.
Ability to use UPS, Fed Ex, Freight Forwarder and LTL carriers software to ship both domestic and export shipment
Understands incoterms and processes the documentation needed for export shipments.
Contacts approved carriers to make arrangements for pick up and shipment of customer orders.
Training in the HazMat shipment process.
Investigates shipment problems and files claims for damaged shipments with carriers.
Performs other clerical tasks such as creating shipping declarations, reviewing freight bills, and keeping files.
Back up and assit with cycle counts, data entry, inventory control, coding of freight bills for approval and payment. 

 


The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following

 

Knowledge normally acquired through completion of a one (1) year certificate from college or technical school in general business, inventory control or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals in order to perform required tasks
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to key in data using computerized inventory management system (SAP)
Ability to organize and prioritize work activities to handle multiple assignments, problem solving
In performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Strong customer service skills to effectivley work with customers, carriers and co-workers.
