The Consumer Card & Bank Experience Design team at Capital One is at the forefront of enriching our customers' digital and physical experiences. About the Role:
As a Director of Design for Emerging Products and Experiences, you will be part of a team that is shaping the experience vision and strategy that not only will propel our products into the future, but will connect our products in new ways that mutually benefit our customers and our business. In this role, you'll be helping Capital One identify and capture new sources of revenue by obsessing over the marriage of customer needs and fledgling business models. You will be leading a portfolio focused on establishing new customer relationships and deepening and expanding existing customer relationships through new product and feature development. You will report to the Head of Emerging Products and Experiences and be part of a leadership team to help manage the collective portfolio, staff resourcing, support the broader Design team, and drive overall innovation strategy.
Oversee, inspire and mentor a team of anywhere from 5-10+ experience leads, UX/UI designers, and writers
Manage activities related to the design and development of user experience design solutions in web, mobile and native
Assure quality and efficiency of workstreams and simultaneously create the space and support for learning and growth on the team
Champion human-centered methodologies across all lines of business in the organization
Partner with Product, Technology, Brand and Business leads to understand financial, technical, and experiential objectives, while influencing product and experience agendas to deliver differential results
Drive innovation not only in customer-facing experiences but also with internal platforms, practices and processes that underpin and bring about world-class solutions

What You'll Bring:
Demonstrated leadership of a cross-skilled experience team within a large scale, high tech company
Experience in branding, marketing and product design methodologies and processes
Proven expertise in mobile native design and development
A track record of envisioning, designing, and delivering successful digital products and features
The ability to strategically influence senior leadership as well as your team as a champion of human-centered design
A great listener and a crisp communicator, with strong business judgment and analytical skills
The ability to thrive within ambiguity, assess and synthesize complexity, and still find the north star that brings clarity and drives forward momentum
