At TA Instruments the Purchasing Specialist is responsible for developing the Supply Chain within designated categories to ensure quality and continuity of supply, and continuous improvement in productivity and cost. To manage and liaise between the various manufacturers/suppliers and the procurement community in support of TA Instruments production requirements. Key activities include; sourcing suppliers to manufacture components unique to TA Instruments, exercise judgment to address material issues, negotiate buys as required, reviews standard and invoice purchase price variances and identifies standard pricing on an annual basis. This role is 40% transactional and 60% strategic.


Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to


Issue Purchase Orders per MRP messaging
Partner with Corporate Commodity managers to standardize according to global tools and processes
Spend Analytics, make vs buy analysis models, etc.
Negotiate supply agreements and multi year supply contract
Participate and support the implementation of the Operations Risk Management Program and develop the strategy through an appropriate supplier network maintaining continuity of supply whilst reducing risk within the supply chain as a whole.
Define and implement VIP pipeline to achieve cost reduction goal
Develop partnerships with R&D to understand product pipelines and ensure adequate suppliers are in place and sourced,
Participate in NPI projects to make sure supplier segmentation and consolidation strategies are used
Manage Supplier Business Reviews.


The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following


Bachelor's Degree preferred
7 + years of buying/commodity procurement experience
MRP System experience is a must within SAP is a plus but not required.
