Research Expert/Research Investigator
Job Summary (Primary function)
Incyte Discovery is seeking a highly motivated cancer biologist to play a key role in advancing an innovative oncology drug discovery pipeline. S/he is expected to apply cutting-edge molecular, cellular, genetic, and pharmacological techniques to develop disease relevant preclinical models. Using state-of-art technologies, s/he is expected to provide a deep mechanistic understanding of the target biology and determine the effects of investigational agents. The successful candidate is expected to be a team player excited to work in multidisciplinary project teams in a fast-paced research environment.
Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
Apply chemical and genetic tools to design, execute and analyze experiments with minimal supervision.
Develop disease-relevant preclinical models to address mechanistic questions of target biology.
Support small molecule screening initiatives for exploratory and lead optimization programs.
Collaborate with other functional groups within drug discovery to achieve shared goals.
Flexibility to acquire additional competencies and skillsets as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically in conveying complex and technical information into a clear and understandable format to both internal and external audiences.
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
Bachelor's or master's degree with at least five years of industry experience or a Ph.D. degree in molecular/cell biology or related fields.
Hands-on experience in standard molecular/cell biology techniques, ex-vivo culture of human tissues, flow cytometry, and CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing platform.
Experience working with hematopoietic system including stem cell biology and/or hemetaological malignancies such as myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs).
Working knowledge of CyTOF mass cytometry is desired.
Proficient in computational tools and genomic data analysis to navigate complex datasets is highly desired.
