This R&D Chemistry position is at our Wilmington, Delaware site. The position is for an individual who will initiate, design and execute scientific research and development strategies aimed at new products and services in the life/bio/chemical sciences field. A qualified applicant is one who can apply a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to inventions, products and problems through investigation or experimentation. A qualified applicant will use scientific knowledge to examine, evaluate, and test discoveries. A qualified applicant is one who proves, applies, and interprets scientific laws and theories and maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.

Chemists in our R&D organization work on all phases of instrument design. With our Marketing Department, they determine the needs of our customers. Working as part of a team of mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software engineers, they facilitate the transition of product design from development to production and delivery.

R&D Chemists may also make contributions to scientific literature and conferences such as publication of papers, application notes or presentations at symposiums. They may also participate in development of patent applications. This position also provides the opportunity to interface with various departments and serve as an internal consultant.
