Development Manager

Citi’s Treasury & Trade Services (TTS) Technology is looking to grow the development team with strong technical individuals. The successful candidate will be a technical development manager with extensive knowledge of Pega software in the financial industry. The candidate will be required to work with business, development and technical teams located globally across Citi.

The Applications Development Senior Manager position is responsible for quality, integrity, scalability, resiliency, and overall technical leadership for the application. You will be leading a matrixed team of Developers, Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, Architects and Quality Assurance Analysts both onsite and offshore, including FTE & Vendor resources, and partner with other team members: PMO, Client Ops and Business, to ensure overall technical solution meets business needs and aligns with technology organization strategies.

With a significant new development portfolio and a large production platform that supports Client Services for thousands of customers, we expect the candidate to provide technical guidance, execution leadership and be a key contributor and hands-on leader for solution implementation.

+ Understands Citi’s architectural roadmap and designs and develops applications to leverage the latest technologies ensuring adherence to corporate standards.

+ Develop application and business expertise in order to lead and participate in architecture discussions with the project team.

+ Drive adoption of the latest DevOps technologies and practices, acts a subject matter expert, resolving adoption issues, and advising of best practices in a hands-on manner.

+ Works with Architecture, Infrastructure, and Technology Risk & Control departments to understand the infrastructure and platform roadmaps and proactively leads and implements initiatives to ensure applications are utilizing current, supported versions.

+ Partners with multiple application teams within the department, participate in technical discussions with application team and other global partners.

+ Solves and works on a variety of high impact, high-profile projects.

+ Experienced with leading and troubleshooting critical production issues.

+ Acts as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts as needed.

+ Works with Security, Compliance, and Infrastructure teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities, and end of vendor support issues.

+ Persuades and influences others through strong and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills.

+ Accurately estimate effort for assigned tasks and consistently meet commitments.

+ Promote extensibility and reusability in application design and coding.

+ Work with our internal database team to understand optimal configuration for application and database servers to ensure high performance and availability.

Required Skills / Experience:

+ 8-10 years of experience in managing developers, stakeholder relationships, software delivery management in the Financial Service industry.

+ End to End implementation experience with Pega 7 & Pega 8 required; Pega certification CPBA and CSA preferred.

+ Proven experience with current DevOps and engineering excellence tools like BitBucket, TeamCity, uDeploy and implementation of CI/CD on the Pega platform.

+ 5+ years of experience working in Agile utilizing Scrum and Scaled Agile framework (SAFe).

+ Proficient on full stack enterprise solution development including WebSphere, JQuery and restful web services.

+ Experience on design of cloud technology and microservice architecture is an asset.

+ 7+ years of Java EE technology experience and extensive experience with WebSphere, Oracle DBMS and RAC, PL/SQL, Stored Procedures, Linux/ AIX Unix Shell scripting and a Source code control software.

+ Proven architecture experience in a complex, large organization.

+ Financial background in Client Services an asset.

+ Self-starter and a “do whatever it takes” attitude.

+ Experience with the following is a plus: MQ, C/C++, Perl, Autosys, Talend or similar ETL tools, usage of Load Balancer, certificate management and deloyment process.



+ Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
