Consulting Manager/Senior Consulting Manager, HEM (Health Economic Modeling)
Certara is seeking an accomplished health economic modeler to join our Value and Access team. This role offers an opportunity to expand your professional experience in a fast-growing science-driven healthcare consultancy where innovation and career progression are our priorities. The successful candidate will report to the Director, HE modeling and will work closely with other senior scientific staff and consultants in related disciplines within the company.
As a Consulting Manager/Senior Consulting Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of health economic models, reports and other supportive tools to key clients. This is an autonomous and visible role and involves providing strategic and technical guidance to our clients and leading the execution of a variety tactical and strategic health economic modeling projects. As a Consulting Manager/Senior Consulting Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Lead and manage the development of health economic solutions for clients providing insights based on prior situations and projects
Review the development and adaptations of HE models including cost-effectiveness and budget-impact models to other markets
Lead technical discussions and contribute to methodological decisions internally and with clients
Coordinate the efforts of other staff contributing to health economic analyses and related project deliverables (other health econ modelers, mathematical modelers, statisticians, systematic reviewers, writers and market access professionals)
Review and be responsible for the final reports, presentations and publications of model results.
Support proposal development and participate in business development as requested
Promote scientific excellence and quality in health economics modeling and statistics through publication of methods as well as other thought leadership (eg. poster/podium presentations, webinars, lunch and learn sessions both internally and externally)
Support and advise junior staff in the best practices for the conduct of health economic analysis and in general in the development of client deliverables
Education, Experience, Training, And Knowledge
Minimum 4 years of experience in health economic modeling to support publications, market access, submissions to reimbursement agencies and/or pharma industry decision-makers and/or health care plan stakeholders
MSc or PhD in Health Economics, Medical Statistics, Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics or Econometrics, or equivalent is required
Experience with project management and client management
Experience using at least one of Excel/VBA, R, SAS, STATA, SPSS, Treeage, C/C++
Experience with techniques such as Markov modeling, parametric and non-parametric modeling, linear and non-linear regressions, survival analysis, multivariate regression, discrete event simulations, population matching, predictive modeling, microsimulation is desired
Pharma industry and prior consulting experience is a strong plus.
Experience with large healthcare databases and statistical analysis is a strong plus.
Skills & Abilities
Good knowledge of market access for new drugs in either the USA or Europe
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
