Overview

 

 

Great opportunity for TA Instruments Controller, reporting to the Sr Director of Finance for TA. This position will be located in New Castle, DE. TA Instruments is looking for an experienced Controller who will be responsible for the accounting of the TA Instruments business in the US, but will also have oversight to the accounting of the business worldwide in accordance with GAAP and Company accounting policy. This position will manage a team of seven Direct reports.

 

 

 

 

Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to

 

 

 

Lead, support and develop team of Direct Reports

Manage Monthly closing process including support to direct report team in preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts.

Review and complete understanding of journal entries and reconciliations

Monitor intercompany accounts and payments with subsidiaries in accordance with Corporate Treasury policy.

Control of fixed assets, including maintaining subledgers and administering capital appropriations process, manage yearly fixed asset review, completing quarterly corporate reporting package, and coordination and analysis of yearly capital annual operating plan.

Make sure capitalized software is accurate including tracking project costs and recording monthly amortization.

Lead the cost roll process from a Finance and Accounting perspective.

Approval of weekly A/P payments

Support the Customer Service Department regarding inquiries on Shipment and Payment Terms

Support FP&A personnel in analyzinge expense variance reports used to interpret current and projected company financial position for the business committee and other managers.

Review monthly sales commissions calculations and payments.

Focus on process improvement.

Ensure SOX documentation is up to date and followed for areas of responsibility.

Lead and review preparation of yearly audit schedules.

Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following

 

 

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting with 10 years of accounting experience.

Experience:

Experience in Manufacturing accounting and Incoterms

Experience in a Multinational company is a plus

Complete understanding and application of accounting principles, concepts, practices, and standards.

Problem solving skills in order to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems.

Analytical skills to collect, summarize and interpret financial results.

Strong interpersonal skills to effectively deal with employees within the group and outside Finance.

Ability to organize and prioritize work activities in order to meet deadlines. The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Self-starter able to work under general direction, plans and arranges own activities to accomplish objectives.

High degree of computer literacy with accounting enterprise software and Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Advanced Excel Office 365 and SAP experience a plus.
