Job Description

Mican Technologies, Inc. has an opening for the position of Sr. Business Systems Analyst (Ref# SBSA1130HM) to work in Bear, DE and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.  Job Duties:  Gather, analyze, and document detailed business and process requirements.  Plan, design, and launch efficient business systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes.  Participate in the tactical process of defining and implementing corporate-wide initiatives of the highest levels of risk, complexity, budget, and impact to the business by thoroughly understanding the business needs and implications, documenting business requirements, building consensus, and proactively identifying and navigating issues and implications to mitigate risks.  Participate in business process mapping with client and IT partners.  Serve as a liaison with appropriate governance committees to ensure alignment with strategic direction, vision, and mission.  Ensure required approvals are obtained from the business.  Discuss technical and functional issues with the business and provide solutions.  Lead collaboration efforts to work through complexities associated with coordination across multiple areas, conflicting efforts, and limited resources.  Document business requirements that capture business needs and process scenarios.  Research, document, and clarify process and workflow questions.  Work with IT partners to translate business requirements into technical specifications.  Ensure business requirements are reviewed, addressed, and accurate in deliverables before release.  Understand and communicate accurate business requirements to IT partners and ensure technical specifications accurately reflect business needs.  Facilitate communication between the IT organization and assigned business areas including negotiating agreements and educating IT on the direction of the business.  Recommend improvements to achieve and deliver high-quality, value-added services.  Identify opportunities for application enhancement for future upgrades.  Coordinate, produce, and distribute business documents such as reports, system, and process documentation.  Actively participate in project meetings.  Facilitate evaluation of delivered technology solution to ensure it satisfies the business needs.  Triage issues, identifying the root cause of systemic issues and ensuring a fix is identified and implemented.  Conduct business process analysis needs assessment and cost-benefit analysis studies and provide input into the business case.  Build internal partnerships to improve communication, coordination, collaboration, and effective working relationships.  Ensure client needs and expectations are met by acting as a conduit between the members of the development team.  Write or assist with writing test conditions, scripts, and/or scenarios.  Identify risks, evaluate controls, and prepare findings and recommendations.  Participate in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of technology solutions, policies, practices, and processes and establish metrics for released applications.  Prepare and execute rollout or maintenance plans for supporting products (e.g., applications, reports, databases, tools) once they go live to the end-user.  Use of Agile, Scrum, Rally, Confluence, MS Visio, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Drupal, XML, SQL, HP ALM, and MS Office.  Travel and/or relocation required.

Requirements:  This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, CIS, MIS, or a related field.  Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years in a related occupation including Quality Analyst, Business Analyst, or related experience.  Will accept a Bachelor’s degree in any field of study plus 5 years of progressive experience in lieu of the required education and experience.  Position requires 1 year of experience with Agile, Rally, Confluence, MS Visio, HTML, and SQL.  Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification required.  Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein.  40hrs/week.
