Entity and activity description

 

The GM&T WBU delivers technological solutions (molecules, equipment and services) to support the new markets of energy transition, maritime logistics and scientific exploration, in order to accelerate Air Liquide sustainable growth.

To support the energy transition, GM&T brings environmentally friendly solutions to the clean energy market with hydrogen energy and Bio-Natural Gas for vehicles, refrigerated transport using nitrogen, but also the treatment and injection of Biogas into the energy grid as a local power source.

As a player of the deep tech sector, GM&T commercializes technologies dedicated to Space, Aerospace and scientific exploration. GM&T also supplies gases for players in of the maritime sector and provides logistics for cryogenic transportation by sea of value added molecules, such as helium.

GM&T employs 1,800 people world-wide and generated a 2017 revenue of 372 million.

Job Responsibilities

 

The Quality Specialist will be responsible to control nonconforming product including containment, root cause analysis, preventive and corrective actions, and the validation of these actions for effectiveness. The Quality Specialist shall participate in Continuous Improvement activities to standardize processes, reduce process variation, improve manufacturing yields and reduce Customer complaints at the Newport, DE manufacturing plant. To this end, the Quality Specialist shall be expected to:

Isolate and quarantine nonconforming product

Conduct Failure Analysis/Defect Characterization in order to understand the failure mode of the product and/or process

Perform Root Cause Analysis

Identify Corrective and Preventive Actions which will prevent the nonconformance from recurring

Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions

Validate effectiveness of implemented Corrective and Preventive Actions

Leverage Corrective and Preventive Actions to similar products and/or processes

Utilize 8D (Eight Disciplines) problem solving methodology to improve supplied quality from ALAS vendors, internal quality from manufacturing operations, and external quality (i.e. Customer satisfaction)

Utilize the DMAIC process (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) to drive continuous improvement and sustain it

Be able to map a process and identify inputs and outputs, and whether they are controlled or not controlled

Evaluate measurement systems through Measurement System Analysis including Gage R&R studies

Assess process control and stability via Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis

Conduct data mining of manufacturing records in order to perform correlation analysis and/or hypothesis testing

Participate in Supplied Quality nonconformance investigations

Participate in Manufacturing continuous improvement teams

Participate in Customer complaint investigations

Participate in Quality Management System (QMS) Audits and Corrective Actions resulting from these audits

Perform incoming inspection audits

Perform manufacturing process audits

Perform outbound shipment audits

Comply with all Air Liquide policies and procedures

Comply with all Air Liquide health, safety and environmental protocols

Perform other duties as required to support changing business needs

Qualifications & Competencies

 

Required

BS in Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or other relevant technical discipline

Minimum one year work experience as a quality professional in manufacturing

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Standard

Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Working knowledge of Google Office (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive and Calendar)

Working knowledge of Statistical Software (Minitab, JMP or equivalent)

Strong technical writing and presentation skills

Strong command of English, verbal and written

Preferred

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (LSSBB)
