Position summary: A career minded CAD/Field Technician who also enjoys working in an office environment and in the field is needed to join JMT's fast growing Water Engineering Practice. Employee will perform computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) in two- and three-dimensional platforms. This candidate will also perform field work that could include field observation, project reconnaissance, and coordinate with sub-consultants.
The selected candidate will become part of an established team of engineers working on exciting sewershed studies and rehabilitations, sewer system operation and maintenance programs, new sewer designs, water distribution designs, and pump station projects in the Mid-Atlantic. Employee is expected to provide quality CAD/field related services efficiently to support the project team's objective and provide customer satisfaction on all projects. As a condition of employment, hire will be required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Proof of vaccination will need to be submitted as part of the interview/hiring process.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Transfer engineering sketches and details to plans utilizing AutoCAD or MicroStation.
Complete basic engineering computations and prepares and revises specifications.
Make quality control corrections to contract drawings
Prepare exhibits for reports, public meetings, or presentations
Conduct field work associated with water, sanitary sewer, and public works-type projects.
Construction observations such as contractor inspection and quality control.

Candidates must have the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-production office environment, build successful team relationships and maintain positive coworker interactions
Candidates must demonstrate organized practices, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have flexibility to support time-critical report development and production in order to meet demanding schedules
Applicant should demonstrate strong team-building skills
Strong computer skills are required: MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Proficiency with AutoDesk and Bentley design platforms including: Civil 3D, Revit, and ArcGIS.
Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and ArcGIS
Knowledge of design and drafting standard procedures and standards
Technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting
Work is performed within a general office environment 75% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required where work may be conducted outside in the heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required as needed.
