The Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DIB) team seeks a talented communicator to help share our DIB commitment, actions and progress internally and externally. The Principal Communications Associate will lead Capital One's external DIB awards strategy, independently managing external award applications and partnering across teams to shape a holistic DIB narrative. They are well versed in research, and will lead quantitative and qualitative research efforts to strengthen our understanding of audience needs and preferences, while identifying industry best practices. They're comfortable communicating across channels, and can adapt tone and personality to match the audience and the need. They're experienced crafting impactful communications and feature articles, and passionate about the opportunity to advance Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging!

What you'll do:
Develop and execute an annual DIB external awards strategy, managing award submissions and analyzing benchmarking results
Lead market research efforts, including empathy interviews, to identify audience needs and preferences; develop data- and insights-based recommendations on how to communicate most effectively
Identify industry best practices in DIB communications and programming, and leverage insights to influence new tactics and strategies
