Provide process control/automation support - to Projects, Operations, Maintenance, EHS and technical teams - including
configuration and programming from I/O to batch sequences
troubleshooting, maintenance and optimization of existing process control and system/network performance and security
recommendations to support continuous improvements to safety performance, regulatory compliance, quality, efficiency, production throughput, equipment reliability, waste reduction and operating cost.
on-call (outside office hours, typically one week per month) for control system-related issues affecting Production.
specify field instrumentation for projects and 'bad-actor' replacement.
participation in Root Cause Analysis investigations, management of change, PSSRs, and PHAs.
Support the maintenance and administration of the site OSI-PI system.
Mentor and train E&I technicians and other site personnel - in process control, automation and instrumentation.
Maintain necessary skills to perform role of Process (Control/Automation) engineer.
Promote adherence to corporate and site automation policies, procedures and standards; contribute to the development of new and improved policies, procedures and standards.
Participate in safety meetings.
Other activities/tasks as assigned.
This position will report to the site leader for Process and Automation.
BS in Electrical/Electronic, Chemical Engineering or related field; other qualifications may be considered with appropriate experience.
3- 10 years' experience in a process/manufacturing environment is preferred.
Hands-on experience of Control systems - DCS and/or PLC - preferably Siemens APACS and Emersion Delta V (including DeltaV Connect and DeltaV Batch) - including configuration programming and HMI graphics, system administration and performance monitoring, and system development.
Experienced in the selection, specification, system design, installation, check-out, commissioning and troubleshooting of field instrumentation, bus communications and other DCS-related components e.g., control panels and circuits, and network infrastructure
DCS interfaces to external systems e.g., PLCs.
Experience of OSI PI system administration.
