The DuPont Industry 4.0 transformation has started to leverage new technologies and Industry 4.0 innovations to improve our processes, culture, customer experiences, internal productivity and agility to meet changing business and market requirements. We believe that these improvements will be fundamental to our long-term competitiveness and margin and EBITDA improvement.

As we launched this transformation we also realized that we have significant further improvement potential to be captured through ‘more traditional’ Lean implementations. We believe that it is critical to our long-term success that we integrate both the ‘traditional’ Lean and ‘new’ Industry 4.0/Digital techniques. At DuPont, we integrate these approaches through a program known as PDL (Productivity through Digitally enabled Lean).

The Digital Lean Transformation Leader role is responsible for helping site leadership teams bring PDL into their operations by leading execution on PDL diagnostics. You will be responsible for helping the site understand how Lean and Industry 4.0 / Digital approaches reinforce each other. You will coach the site as they design a 2-3 year transformation roadmap and you will help them implement the first set of improvement initiatives. Throughout all of this, you will work closely together with our Center of Excellence to both rapidly learn our approach to PDL but also share your own insights so we can continuously improve our own toolkits and approaches.

Core Responsibilities:

+ Coach site leadership as they develop the 2-3 year roadmap towards Industry 4.0 Operational Excellence

+ Support the site in the launch of the first set of improvement projects, ensure rapid realization and financial validation to build momentum for further change

+ Build strong capability at the site level (both in the leadership team and in the local continuous improvement leaders) with regards to the DuPont approach to combining Lean, Six Sigma and Digital/Agile.

+ Identify gaps in business analysis, in particular with regards to Operational data, partner with the relevant experts and lead discussions to proposing solutions. Be aware of current industry practices and emerging trends.

+ Leverage Industry 4.0 and new technologies to enhance internal productivity and improve processes, employees and customer experience.

+ Analyze site infrastructure and identify gaps in service/processes by focusing on not only increasing short-term performance but also meeting their long-term strategic objectives.

+ Where relevant, draft charters for improvement projects with clearly defined benefits, scope, resource requirements and project plan with milestones and timeline.

+ Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) guidance in support of best practices, digital transformation and Lean/Six Sigma project activities in pursuit of continuous improvement. Where relevant, serve as a teacher/facilitator in selected training and workshops.


+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Information Technologies

+ 5 years minimum applicable experience in Supply Chain/Manufacturing role

+ Deep experience in Lean, Six Sigma and Agile demonstrated proficiency in delivering projects on time and in full with impact

+ Deep Lean Manufacturing/Management experience

+ Familiar with Digital Transformation / Industry 4.0 tools (MES, MOM, Connectivity)

+ Technical aptitude, critical thinking abilities, excellent communication skills, and adaptability

+ Knowledgeable of supply chain and operations design and improvements

+ Strong track record of leading transformation work and Project/program management experience, with demonstrated proficiency in delivering quality results on time and in-full

+ APICS CPIM required (already obtained or can complete within 1-2 years of role)

+ ERP competency (SAP / Business Warehouse (BW)

+ Able to demonstrate significant depth in one or more of the following: Continuous Improvement/Program Leadership, Change Management, Digital Transformation, Lean/Kaizen application in manufacturing and transactional, SAP/BW, Demand/Supply Planning & Scheduling, Salesforce, customer service

Additional Information:

+ 50% or less travel to sites within Northeast Region

+ No direct reports will lead through influence and project leadership
