Job Description

Corrosion Engineer needed by AECOM Technical Services, Inc. in Newark, DE  to prepare cathodic protection and stray current mitigation system designs.  Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects. Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings. Prepare technical specifications sections. Provide input to the develop of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements. Provide technical support to resolve corrosion and stray current control issues for a wide variety of industries. Work effectively in a project team environment either locally or remotely. Be proficient in galvanic and impressed current cathodic protection system design, specifications, installation inspection, testing and troubleshooting. Select protective coatings and prepare specifications for application inspection and field testing.  Have effective written and verbal communication skills.  Organize and analyze data to prepare reports with concise conclusions and recommendations for corrosion control requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Studies and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience using AutoCAD; Preparing cathodic protection and straying current mitigation system designs including galvanic and impressed current cathodic protection system; performing Installation inspection, testing and troubleshooting; Participating in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables; Developing estimates of technical efforts for projects; providing input to the develop of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements; Performing quality control review of design calculations or drawings; Providing technical support to resolve corrosion and stray current control issues for a wide variety of industries; Organizing and analyzing field/lab data to prepare reports with concise conclusions and recommendations for corrosion control requirements. Candidate must also have the NACE International certification as CP Level 3 or Senior Corrosion Technologist and must have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering examination.
