This internship is designed to give interested candidates an introduction into the Water/Wastewater industry by giving them hands on experience at the Wilmington Wastewater Treatment Plant. A successful candidate should have an interest in the Water/Wastewater field with a heavy emphasis on Engineering, Science, or Math and at least be starting their Junior year of college in Fall 2022.
+ Assist technical staff in various projects related to the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and associated facilities
+ Participate in projects/programs assigned by Project Director or Project Engineer, including unit process troubleshooting and pilot studies
+ Use analytical skills to evaluate problems, gather and analyze data for use by other technical staff
+ Participate in technical meetings with O&M and engineering staff as it relates to job duties or assigned projects
+ Spend time shadowing various other fields within the plant and at other projects within Jacobs as it aligns with your interests
+ Database management and draft report preparation as instructed by Project Engineer.
+ Conduct field work under the direct supervision of a manager in a safe manner
Here’s What You’ll Need:
+ Engineering or Science Major
+ Experience with Microsoft Products including Excel and Word
+ Strong Organizational Skills
+ Experience working with diverse teams in a fast paced environment
+ Valid driver’s license with no major infractions
+ Ability to work in the field and lift up to 40 lbs
