Civil/Structural Work Group Lead Engineer

Work Group Lead – Structural Engineering

Based in KBR’s office in Newark, DE, under general supervision, the Principal Structural Engineer will act as a Work Group Lead for project work. The incumbent independently applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials in other organizations. They provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and is consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on scientific interpretations and advice. Job role is responsible for a measurable asset such as assigned staff on projects and budget.

Work will be performed in a flexible work arrangement work in the office in Newark, DE and remote work.

Responsibilities

+ Responsible for technical content on construction released structural drawings for structural steel and concrete

+ Responsible for preparing structural calculations for structural steel and concrete

+ Responsible for conceptual and final foundation design including spread footings, piles, and drilled shafts

+ Responsible for preparing construction specifications

+ Responsible for providing technical support during construction for all structural activities

Requirements/Qualifications

+ BS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

+ 8+ years of related experience

+ Professional Engineer License preferred

+ Experience in structural and civil engineering is preferred
