PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Instructional Technologist supports FlightSafety International's goal to streamline and implement classroom technology utilizing fleetwide strategy. This position provides support to LiveLearning hosts and instructors, classroom technology just-in-time support, site-SME coordination activities, site classroom technology adds, moves, inventory, and upgrades support, and instructor classroom technology training, as needed.

 

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The following duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned.

Classroom Support

Provides technical support for courseware, programs applications, and technology-based learning tools.

Installs and updates Center lobby & touch screens, classroom menu systems and courseware servers to ensure proper versions and access capabilities.

Liaises with Facilities, Simulation and Information Technology to ensure classroom moves and renovations completed by ready for training dates.

Coordinates SME activities and resolves issues providing just in time support for courseware and related products.

Performs audits and inventory activities ensuring accurate recordkeeping for classroom, client and instructor products.

Recommends and oversees maintenance activities for classroom hardware and software.

Provides support for LiveLearning hosts and instructors.Fleet Management & Support

Develops computer training materials and provides instruction on new technology, software and hardware to employees.

Identifies, designs and effectively incorporates technology plans, tools, and programs into FlightSafety's learning environment.

Assists IT in troubleshooting hardware and software used for FlightSafety training.

Ensures Programs' access and permissions requirements for technical products and applications.

Coordinates with Classroom Matrix Integration Managers and Directors of Programs on classroom best practices to support the training fleet.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Associates degree or two years technical education certificate program. Education should be in a related field of study: computer technology, business management.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

Five (5) years' related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Substitution must be in related field.

Demonstrable experience in technical support, troubleshooting and communications preferably within training environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Microsoft Office

Microsoft and Apple product troubleshooting

Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; able to speak, understand, read and write.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works with electrically wired equipment and must ensure precautions to prevent exposure to risk of electrical shock. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high areas that may require use of a ladder and is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions; fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, and/or vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
