This role works on developing new antibiotic replacement products leading to healthier animals and more sustainable poultry and swine production

Some of your activities will include:

+ Can design animal trials to show the health effects of new solutions (probiotics, phytogenic, enzymes etc) under a range of disease/subclinical challenge conditions

+ Provides in-depth knowledge of animal disease, infection biology, intestinal health, and immunology to R&D and technical teams working in the area

+ Plans and executes a significant innovation animal trial budget, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary group of university and institute partners globally.

+ Shows creative and original thinking in developing innovative solutions for the animal feeding industry.

+ Maintains an up to date awareness of all R&D activities in the area through literature review and industry and academic networking.

+ Designs and coordinates studies with partners and internal R&D teams, and actively seeks to enhance the technical know-how of Danisco Animal Nutrition in the area.

+ Prepares protocols, analyses data, and produces reports on experiments.

+ Serves as a link between groups working on technology platforms and the application of those technologies into animal nutrition.

+ Performs as a technical specialist Key Account support activities as agreed from time to time.

Job Requirements

Skills & experience include:

+ PhD degree in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science or related subject with emphasis on infectious disease mechanisms or intestinal health in poultry or swine.

+ Demonstrated research experience in at least one of the following fields: immunology, intestinal microbial ecology, host-pathogen interactions.

+ First-hand experience with current laboratory techniques of intestinal health and immunology is required.

+ Manages internal and external resources to meet the goals of Innovation projects.

+ Experience in co-ordinating and executing efficacy studies for registration purposes is beneficial.

+ Demonstrated working level understanding of statistics and use of statistical packages and affinity with big data analysis.

+ Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels, externally and internally, including good presentation skills, reports and scientific writing.

+ Demonstrated innovative and creative skills in the way to achieve a new goal set.

+ Motivated to play a role in developing new products for more sustainable monogastric production

+ Methodical, systematic and accurate approach, with attention to detail and able to achieve deadlines with complex or new issues.

+ Team player in a multi-cultural environment and self-motivated.

Travel up to 10%
