The Actuarial Analyst 2, Rate Compliance will be mainly responsible for development of commercial group medical rate filings. This includes the submission of requirements into state and federal rate filing portals.
This position includes evaluating state and federal laws, researching filing requirements, and ensuring that our pricing is compliant and reflected correctly in our filings and rating systems. The position will also involve the development of commercial group medical rate filings that includes the submission of requirements into state and federal rate filing portals. We are looking for a detail oriented; technically sharp individual who is interested in using their technical skills to create and build process improvements for the various requirements associated with developing premium rate filings. The individual must be able to manage multiple filings at a time, adhering to all regulatory deadlines, and communicating any barriers timely to the manager.
+ Responsible for development of group commercial premium rate filings and exhibits required by state and federal insurance departments.
+ Exercises considerable latitude in developing rate filing submission requirements.
+ Create and maintain process improvements for rate filing development tools.
+ Interpreting legislative updates related to rate filing compliance, this includes collaboration with team members to perform, document and communicate the impacts.
+ Respond to external comments from reviewers on items related to the rate filing submission requirements.
+ Create and support cooperative working relationships, both within the company-at-large and with outside partners from DOI, CMS, and Actuarial Consultant reviewers.
+ Work in a fast paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously
+ Utilize a strong attention to detail, and a focus on validation checks to minimize the opportunity for errors in filings
+ Bachelor Degree
+ Successful completion of at least 3 actuarial exams
+ Meets requirements for Humana’s Actuarial Professional Development Program (APDP)
+ Experience in more than one function (e.g., modeling, pricing, rate filing, reporting & analysis, reserving or trending)

+ 3+ years of actuarial experience
+ Pricing experience
+ Advanced proficiency with VBA
+ Familiarity with SQL or SAS
+ Prior work history in a project related setting
