About the Role: We are looking for a LCA Expert to join our Enterprise Sustainability Team. This role will support the expansion and enhancement of our capabilities to quantify and further improve the environmental impacts of our materials and products along their life cycle. There is a strong preference for it to be based at any of our US or EU manufacturing sites.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Work with our divisions to establish LCA capabilities - focus on shared methodology, processes, and tools - to allow our businesses to create reliable and consistent product environmental footprint information

Engage with businesses and functions to promote LCA thinking and support them to identify appropriate approaches matching development stages, sensitivity of data gaps and desired study outputs

Collaborate with businesses on LCA projects to better understand our product's use phase environmental benefits and impacts along their life cycle

Provide qualitative and quantitative environmental guidance to our materials and product innovators

Help identify opportunities to improve our environmental impacts along the value chain

Engage with selected external stakeholders on promoting LCA application and development of missing tools in industries Gore is serving

Guide and support divisional pilot LCA projects (all stages: ideation, modeling, data collection, data analysis, data visualization, reporting), perform analyses on energy, water, waste, and emissions and create LCA models

 

 

 

 

Required Qualifications:

Technical academical degree with a minimum of 5 years working experience in a sustainability role within an industrial environment

Experience in applying LCA and implementing footprinting tools in complex organizations (GaBi, openLCA, etc.)

Current knowledge of best practices in applying LCA and other environmental footprinting tools in industry (e.g. automotive, consumer electronics, healthcare)

Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and value chains

Excellent analytical and data management skills

Proven ability to communicate to and engage with a range of audiences (e.g. R&D, Sales), including explaining complex technical topics

Proven ability to influence and drive change in a global organization

Ability to travel up to 20% internationally

 

Desired Qualifications:

LCA experience with polymer-based articles

Existing LCA network in industry

Proven project management skills
