Our Gas, Fuels & ChemicalsBusiness provides services from consulting, design, full engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and commissioning/start-up of LNG facilities, Floating LNG facilities, gas processing and NGL fractionation, gasification/ gas to liquids, hydrogenand ammonia/fertilizers. Our knowledge, capabilities, and innovation include our proprietary PRICO® technologies. This enables our team to assess and choose tailored solutions with greater quality and efficiency for our clients. The value chain spans natural gas and natural gas liquids, midstream, wholesale markets, power generation and utility segments.
The Principal Estimator is responsible for the direction and preparation of lump sum, unit rate and cost plus estimates ranging from simple cost analysis to definitive estimates in support of proposals, project controls and project change orders.
Adherenceto all applicable estimating procedures to drive consistency across regional offices for the O&Gbusiness line.
Assist with development and implementation of estimating plans with the project teams.
Assist in proposals and project completion activities; turnover to the project team.
Prepare cost estimates for proposals, projects and studies; ensure the content of the estimate is complete, accurate and meets the requirements.
Plan, coordinate, review, verify and analyze all aspects of estimates.
Responsible for directing, training and developing subordinates.
Coordinate and review the variable estimating factors in each area with appropriate parties.
Providetechnical advice and assistance to the project in the preparation of estimates ranging in scope and complexity.
Appraises accuracy of estimates and recommends contingencies for estimates such as lump-sum bids, and defined estimates.
Assists estimating management with an independent assessment of an estimate’s accuracy (upon completion of the estimate and summarization of all detailed man-hours, material, construction and home office costs).
Recommends detailed estimating procedures and techniques to be utilized in the development of the estimate.
Assists in planning and development offormal training programs to maintain and improve estimating techniques, procedures and capabilities for both new and experienced personnel.
Maintains familiarity with externalestimating and cost engineering developments. Champions continuous improvement efforts.
BS or MS graduate in Construction Management or related field is preferred, but not required.Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a lead or principal estimator.Demonstrates leadership skills; ability to lead an Estimating Department.Advanced knowledge of MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Advanced experience with 3rd party estimating software programs (specifically Aspen Capital Cost Estimator) required. Ability to managecomplex estimates.Experience with the developmen t of subordinates. Mathematical skills, scheduling/planning skills, Cost engineering skills, Leadership skills, Consulting skills, Problem-solving skills, presentation skills, a nalytical skills.Verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal communication skills.
Required: 10 to 25 years of relevant experience, including some estimating experience .
