Our Animal Health Marketing team takes a customer centric perspective using customer feedback and market intelligence data. Using this data, we design, develop and deploy products, platforms, brands and marketing initiatives that ensure we can improve the health and well-being of animals everywhere.

Summary of the Job:

Associate Director of Scientific Marketing Affairs is a remote position responsible for cross-team collaboration with Research & Development, Business Development, Marketing (US & Global), Professional Services (US & Global), US Sales, Regulatory and Legal to set strategy for product development and launch, lifecycle management and new acquisitions across the companion animal portfolio, but with a primary focus on the parasiticide franchise. This individual will work closely with Regulatory, Research & Development, Professional Services, Strategic Development and Innovation, and Marketing to ensure the timely approval and delivery of new products and services for the Companion Animal BU. This individual will be expected to maintain and develop strong working relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in academia and clinical practice. Additional duties will include attending and presenting at prominent scientific meetings.

Primary activities include:

+ Collaborating with Research & Development and Marketing (US & Global) to ensure new product introductions are optimized, timely and consistent with the goals of the US CA/Equine Business Unit

+ Collaborating with Global LCM teams and Research & Development on product label extensions and new product pipeline and Global Train the Trainer programs

+ Preparing technical backgrounders, slide decks and KOL First-To-Know packets to support new product launches in co-ordination with Marketing Brand Managers, Regulatory and Legal colleagues

+ Act as technical subject matter expert with marketing and agencies on creation of promotional assets for PSV and TM field use

+ Review of promotional marketing, technical and training materials managed on the VEEVA Vault PromoMats platform that are related to the existing portfolio and new product launches, primary support focused on the parasiticide portfolio

+ Collaborating with Marketing to critically evaluate the economic feasibility of new products/technologies

+ Identifying and developing KOL support for our company’s Animal Health products/technologies.

+ Supporting Speaker Bureau, Conference and National KOLs as MAH interface between Marketing and PSV

+ Acting as a liaison between Research & Development and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to cultivate a positive reputation for our company’s Animal Health as a science-based and innovative company.

+ Assisting with design and coordination of post-approval Market Support Studies of licensed products/technologies to generate clinically relevant and economically important information.

+ Obtaining valuable real-world information and insight through various channels, including attendance at scientific conferences, field visits to university research facilities and selected private practices to help with the prioritization and evolution of our company’s Animal Health portfolio.

+ Sharing new products/technologies with LCM colleagues across species teams in the US and Global to assess broader applications within our company’s Animal Health.

+ Travel requirements for this position are a minimum of 30-40% of the time. Travel responsibilities will be prioritized by project value

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) degree

+ A minimum of 10 years of combined experience in clinical practice and the companion animal pharmaceutical industry, to include at least 3 years in clinical practice and at least 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry.

+ Broad based background and knowledge in infectious diseases and general medicine, in-depth knowledge of parasitology and a willingness to work in a variety of therapeutic areas. Advanced training is desirable in the area of companion animal medicine or parasitology through a post-graduate training program, Clinical Residency, Master’s degree or PhD in related fields.

+ Commercial experience in technical marketing of parasiticides is highly desirable.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power point, Excel)

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong presentation skills

+ Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
