Job Summary

Black & Veatch is looking for an Event Marketing Specialist to join the corporate Marketing & Communications team. This position will be responsible for strategic planning, and successful execution of Black & Veatch internal and external conferences, tradeshows, webinars and events. These events are designed to drive new business while strengthening existing relationships with clients, increase awareness of Black & Veatch services, increase brand awareness and ultimately accelerate our sales cycle, market position and generate revenue. This includes planning, developing, executing and measuring results.

Key Responsibilities

+ Collaborate with sales and marketing leadership to set company-wide strategies to leverage company events and tradeshows in order to further establish and reinforce the Black & Veatch brand identity, core values, enhance client relations, and support business objectives

+ Coordinate and execute specific marketing activities for aligned events (ex. Sponsorship, Trade show graphics, setting up email campaigns in marketing automation platform, registration, coordinating social and analytical support)

+ Provide logistics support for events. Tasks include scheduling, vendor management, AV services, hospitality site selection, catering, editing, organizing, shipping and storing content related to events

+ Coordinate all aspects of tradeshow and event planning including but not limited to evaluating and recommending event opportunities, vendor contracts negotiation, location recommendations, pre- and post-event marketing support and metrics, speaker management, logistics, lead collection and tracking, staffing coordination, AV/technical coordination, events evaluation and analysis and budget management.

+ Oversee relationships and negotiate contracts with outside vendors including convention centers, hotel facilities, restaurants, exhibition centers, etc. to ensure best value for Black & Veatch

+ Provide continual evaluation of event programs, including post-event evaluations/surveys, establishing measurable tracking methods, reporting ROI and identification of best practices into all aspects of the event planning process

+ Responsible for ordering and tracking event inventory including collateral, giveaways, etc.

+ Work on multiple, simultaneous marketing programs that require both strategic thinking as well as high-speed tactical execution

+ Develop and ensure standards and processes for Black & Veatch events and tradeshows to achieve consistent quality and brand positioning

Successful candidates are creative, exceptionally organized and detail oriented.

Additional qualifications:

+ 3+ years’ industry experience (tradeshow, exhibit, internal) with proven results

+ 2+ years’ experience in other aspects of marketing strongly desired (communications, marketing, PR, etc.)

+ Digital event experience preferred (Go To Webinar or similar webinar platform, LinkedIn Live Event and MS Teams Live Event experience; other supporting technologies include Eloqua Marketing Automation, CVENT event management)

+ Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and liaise effectively at all levels of the organization.

+ Team player with the ability to work within a dynamic, cross functional, global team

+ Detail oriented with exceptional organizational, time-management, and project management skills

+ Can negotiate skillfully and diplomatically in tough situations with both internal and external groups

+ Budget creation & reconciliation experience

+ An understanding of B2B marketing programs, promotions and best practices

+ Accelerate marketing strategies to drive email opt in and lead generation across events

+ Ability to work independently against tight deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment keeping a sharp eye on detail and accuracy

+ Analyze, track and report on event ROI

+ Physical ability to lift and maneuver tradeshow set-up materials

+ Analytical skills, especially in areas of measuring marketing effectiveness and gaining customer insights is a plus

+ 0% – 20% travel required – varies (when its deemed safe to travel)

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field; or equivalent experience

Experience: 5+ years related experience
