Corporate Finance: Business Management – Associate
Business Management optimizes business performances by helping to drive key initiatives. They act as a trusted advisor and counterweight to Business/Group Heads and are responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks. The role of a business manager is dynamic and can vary from business to business, in line with the priorities of the different lines of business.
An Associate in Business Management would be expected to:
+ Support expense management, budget, and headcount forecasting
+ Track progress against priorities, including midyear and end of year summaries capturing the team’s accomplishments
+ Coordinate materials for town halls
+ Serve as and/or provide support to People agenda lead
+ Enhance and maintain internal resources and documentation on Confluence, SharePoint, etc.
+ Participate in collaborative initiatives with team members and global managers, looking for ways to continually simplify, improve, and add value to existing business processes
+ Provide a high level of responsiveness to executive ad-hoc requests related to project management, presentation development, and business analysis
+ Support the Controls agenda by supporting any of the following initiatives:
+ Annual review of the business resiliency plan
+ Partner with the business to govern and provide oversight to the User Tool assessment process
+ Provide oversight to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) review and assessment process in partnership with the business
The Business Manager role will support the Financial Accounting, Infrastructure & Reporting (FAIR) organization. FAIR is primarily focused on ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the Firm’s books and records with an emphasis on general ledger, operating systems & infrastructure controls across the entire lifecycle of the business. Some of the most common functions and activities that are owned by Financial Controllers are balance sheet reconciliation / certification, balance sheet substantiation and General Ledger Attestation (GLA) standards, inter-entity control & governance, manual accounting / bookings to the GL and operating systems and the month end close process & consolidation.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related area
+ Proven experience delivering timely, high quality presentations and/or reporting for various projects and stakeholders. Attention to detail is a must with continuous focus on design excellence
+ Demonstrated ability in dealing with different stakeholder groups and driving the agenda
+ Intermediate to advanced level ability expected in all MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint/PitchPro).
+ Self-motivated and able to work with high degree of independence
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills
+ Strong time management and prioritization skills
