Job Description

JPMorgan Chase & Co. has an opening for a Software Engineering position in Wilmington, Delaware.

JOB DUTIES: Responsible for full lifecycle development of applications from designing interface to implementation. Develop SOAP and RESTful based Spring Web Services to publish messages to system of records. Participate in Agile activities like sprint planning and user story reviews. Develop Web Service contracts with constraints and key references. Develop scripts to cluster server logs and configure applications. Develop unit test cases, functional test cases, and client tests. Develop health checks and security monitors to track application health in production. Build automated regression test case suite. Develop interactive web pages. Responsible for production support, triage, and resolving production issues. Participate in performance testing and application performance tuning activities. Create monitoring dashboards and alerts. Configure continuous development and continuous deployment pipelines. Develop and deploy applications. Implement application security. Support peer reviews. Coach less experienced developers.


Minimum Education and Experience Required: This position requires a Master’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience as an Application/Software Developer, Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related role. The employer will alternatively accept a  Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience in lieu of a Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following skills and technologies: designing and developing horizontally scalable, highly available distributed systems webservice application supporting at least 1 million users; object oriented programming languages including Java; full lifecycle development of applications; software development, maintenance, and improvement; SQL database technologies such as Oracle or SQL Server; cloud native application development; cloud engineering concepts such as cloud foundry or aws; performance and monitoring tools such as Spunk, Dynatrace, JMeter, or Blazemeter; build management tools such as Jenkins; Unix or Shell Scripting; developing interactive web pages using MVC framework, HTML, Ajax, CSS, and JavaScript; developing webservices REST and SOAP using JSON, XML, and XSD; and working in agile methodology.
