POSITION TITLE:  Project Scheduler  DATE:  October 2021

FLSA STATUS:  Exempt  DEPT:  Program Management

LOC:  Delaware

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Project Scheduler reports to the Director of Program Management and is responsible for developing, managing and coordinating production schedules to ensure efficient workflows; analyzes, plans and revises capacity and load on department and vendor resources;  coordinates inter- and intra-departmentally, develops and maintains templates and reporting tools, and provides appropriate delivery dates to ensure customer satisfaction; operates in compliance with company safety practices; and performs other duties as assigned.



Develop, manage, coordinate, and monitor individual project schedules as demand and integrate multiple project-based schedules into an overall Master Program Schedule.

Understand and implement key dependencies with external project inputs, such as customers and / or vendor data deliverables; develop project completion paths based on internal and external constraints and dependencies.

Schedule demand-based activities based on the active and projected schedules, provide accurate commitment dates to the sales and customer service team.

Develop and manage scheduling project templates and communications tools utilizing MS Project, MS Excel; flexibility to adapt internal data formats to ensure appropriate linkages/dependencies with external scheduling tools which may employ various software platforms.

Manage load leveling and bottleneck scheduling and utilize theory of constraints and critical chain for more accurate scheduling.

Establish, measure, monitor, and adjust capacity vs. load levels on all schedules; determine and balance available capacity before planned orders are released.

Advise in capacity management during manpower requirements planning, master scheduling, and activity control.

Establish reporting to determine labor and productivity performance statistics.

Coordinate information with other functional staff, including sales /customer service and PM.

Work closely with the functional teams to understand issues and how they impact the schedule results as well as educate/inform management team on the key cost divers and variances.

Establish key performance indicators of forecast / scheduling accuracy; ensure the interaction functional managers, and track and maintain the forecast through timely and accurate feedback.

Prepare, analyze, and present tracking reports in charts, graphs, tables, and databases to help understand risk mitigation planning.

Performs other duties as assigned.



High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with a focus on business or operations management.

PMI-SP and/or PMP coursework or certification preferred.

Three or more years with finance / scheduling programs preferred.

Two or more years project management experience

Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, primarily MS Project/ProChain, MS Excel, and other Company specific software applications.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills.

Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective organization skills including the ability to prioritize and plan work.

Maintain compliance with company procedures and supervisors’ instructions.

Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed.

Ability to Build Positive Relationships and to maintain cross-functional partnerships.

Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and manuals. 


Physical Requirements:  This position requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform office and clerical duties including use of office tools.


Working Environment:  The working environment is corporate office facility.  Daily contact with employees in other departments is required.
