Job Description

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks an Software Engineer in Wilmington, Delaware.

JOB DUTIES: Participate in project planning sessions with project managers and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed solution. Document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules, and develop/enhance software application modules. Participate in code review and ensure that all solutions are aligned to predefined architectural specifications. Write and follow best practice for coding, and write unit test cases following test first approach. Leverage modern technologies including cloud backed APIs, microservices. Responsible for all aspects of technology delivery. Triage technical issues and work toward solving problems. Responsible for the delivery of software as an agile team member.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years of experience as a Application Developer, Systems Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a  Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of experience in lieu of a Master’s degree plus three (3) years of experience.

Skill Requirements: This position requires experience with the following skills: Java; Python; SQL and databases such as Oracle or MySQL; running and deploying applications on Unix or Linux operating system; Big Data platform and technologies including Hadoop, HDFS, Spark, and Hive; Spring framework; building REST applications, and Microservices; Git, maven, and Jenkins; and Public Cloud such as  AWS.
