Entity and activity description


The GM&T WBU delivers technological solutions (molecules, equipment and services) to support the new markets of energy transition, maritime logistics and scientific exploration, in order to accelerate Air Liquide sustainable growth.

To support the energy transition, GM&T brings environmentally friendly solutions to the clean energy market with hydrogen energy and Bio-Natural Gas for vehicles, refrigerated transport using nitrogen, but also the treatment and injection of Biogas into the energy grid as a local power source.

As a player of the deep tech sector, GM&T commercializes technologies dedicated to Space, Aerospace and scientific exploration. GM&T also supplies gases for players in of the maritime sector and provides logistics for cryogenic transportation by sea of value added molecules, such as helium.

Job Responsibilities


Lead and/or provide support to existing and new product development especially within the adsorption technology area (TSA, PSA, scavenger) for industrial gas separation either as the primary separation technology or as a hybrid with membrane systems (front end purification for Biogas systems, specific contaminant removal for Biogas, pretreatment for natural gas membrane systems).

The work is generally project-based. The individual's role in any specific project may be adjusted based on the needs of the project. The individual must have the capability and flexibility to both lead and support projects effectively.

The individual shall follow relevant group practices and procedures (e.g., use of Stage Gate), as appropriate.

Lead, manage, and contribute to multiple projects focused on adsorption processes including:

Serving as the primary resource for adsorption based technologies

Coordinating and overseeing internal qualification and validation activities

Coordinating with Procurement, Production Planning, etc. as required for transition to production

New adsorption technology development (TSA, PSA and Scavenger)

Troubleshooting field problems and developing solutions

Serves as the point of Transfer of products from R&D

Qualifications & Competencies



Engineering degree with strong adsorption background.

PhD/MS with a minimum of 10+ years work experience in adsorption processes and adsorbents

BS level with 15+ years experience and In depth knowledge of commercial adsorbents/ adsorbent processes

Demonstrates strong process and operational safety behavior at all times.

Ability to work independently and in small teams, in a way that enhances team dynamics.

Ability to lead and manage small to medium projects.

Documented history of adsorption Test Systems/Pilot experience

Individuals should expect to work in a lab and/or field environment to evaluate and troubleshoot adsorbents processes with modest and part-time support from lab technicians and operators.

Experience with analytical equipment for evaluation of adsorbents

Capability to conceptually design/build with support necessary test benches.

Capable of clear and concise written and verbal communication through reports, status updates, presentations, etc.

Able to interface with customers, suppliers, and senior management to positively convey information.

Capable of maintaining ongoing and developing new relationships with key technical partners in Biogas, ALaS, R&D, external contractors, technology partners, and customers etc.


Familiarity with membranes and membrane processes

Familiarity with Biogas upgrading.

Operational experience

Adsorption simulation software capability

Stay abreast with technical reports and published literature; alert technical team of new developments, willingness to test out new concepts to improve performance, yield, etc.
