HOURS: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM / 6:00AM - 2:30PM **shift hours could vary with future dept. needs**
On-call alternating weeks/weekends/holidays
**Position will require flexibility with scheduling and work locations. Working alternate shifts, on holidays or weekends may be a possibility to meet the needs of the department and CCHS with little or no prior notice. Rotating on-call responsibility required. Be familiar with equipment located on both hospital campuses and associated locations.
High School diploma or equivalent
Journeyman certificate in plumbing with four years' experience in the plumbing field or equivalent required.
Working knowledge of current applicable codes to include but not limited to International Plumbing and Mechanical codes.
Required to successful obtain an ASSE 6010 Medical Gas Installer certification within one year of hire date.
Successfully obtain ASSE 5000 series Cross-Connection Control Certifications needed to support department within one year of hire date.
Candidate needs to have knowledge of plumbing maintenance, techniques, and equipment
Required to cross train at Christiana Hospital and other ChristianaCare locations
Capable of brazing, and soldering of copper pipe up to 4"
Proficiency with technologies and software's such as Mobile electronics, Microsoft software's, Computerized Maintenance Records Systems, Building Management Systems, etc.
First response to water leaks, documents findings, and coordinates repair/remediation work with contractors including roofing vendors
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install, repair, and maintain primary piping systems for water, drainage, and medical gas. This includes associated sub-systems, and equipment. Complete preventive maintenance and corrective work orders with associated documentation in a timely manner. Troubleshoot problems with plumbing systems including hot water generators, convertors, and circulating pumps. Checks on water pressure, temperature and condition regularly. Perform assigned work safely while adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Report to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself or other. Performs other related duties as required while consistently demonstrating Christiana Care Values and Behaviors individually and as a team member.
