Job Description

The Marketing and Communications Manager is a key member of the Benedictine team. The Marketing and Communications Manager supports the Chief Advancement Officer in marketing development and fundraising communications. The positions also promotes the Benedictine organization as a whole. Developing marketing and communications strategies and materials for the School. Developing marketing and communications strategies and materials for the School, Adult Programs, Human Resources, or other departments as needed. 

Need more details?  Here are the primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Consistently report to work on time as scheduled, prepared to perform assigned duties and responsibilities during entire scheduled work period/shift.
  • Assist the Chief Advancement Officer with creation and implementation of strategic marketing goals for the Foundation and Benedictine.
  • Develop and produce marketing, direct mail and public relations materials to support fundraising initiatives that help secure needed financial resources for Benedictine with special emphasis on the campaign, annual giving, appeals, newsletters, and special events.
  • Implement Benedictine's communications strategy and execute across all platforms (print, web, digital, and social media). Support the Foundation in the development of strategy.
  • Serve as a liaison with any pertinent marketing outlets: media, consultants, writers, graphic designers, photographers, videographers. 
  • Create news releases, website content, social media posts, and print publications and collateral that support the Foundation and Benedictine fundraising and promotional strategy.
  • Coordinate with Benedictine's staff to identify and post relevant program content for the website and social media outlets including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Constant Contact and other outlets as appropriate.
  • Provide and model effective project management skills that lead to excellence in productivity and achievement of desired outcomes. 
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with staff, parents, board member, donors, volunteers, vendors and contractors.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in marketing and communications required, preferably in the nonprofit sector. Experience must include digital and social media marketing strategies and analytics. 
  • Must be a strong communicator, able to develop powerful and inspiring messaging that moves donors to action. 
  • Must possess exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be adept at visual presentations including graphics, and photographic skills. 
  • Must have demonstrated excellence in planning and organizational capabilities.
  • Must demonstrate strength in decision-making and problem-solving; able to resolve conflicts, build consensus, and negotiate solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively required.
  • Must be computer and technology savvy.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years old.
  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in US upon offer. 
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must pass pre-employment criminal background checks through CJIS as stated in Family Law Article 5-561 and pass pre-employment CPS check.
