Job Description

JPMorgan Chase & Co. has an opening for a Control Manager position in Newark, Delaware.

JOB DUTIES: Analyze control risk issues by identifying, measuring, and making decisions on operational controls risks. Perform monitoring of operational- and financial-related data to recognize patterns and trends with risk and control implications, and help implement risk mitigation and control remediation programs across the business. Provide the business with a comprehensive view of control risk, and assist with control and risk governance implementation and reporting. Coordinate the Control and Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE) process, perform issue identification and action plan management, provide company representation at the Business Control Forum, conduct thematic and deep dive risk reviews, and design and execute testing of key risk controls. Participate in control meetings to provide view on Operations control risks and issues. Provide review of Operations errors in accordance with the Corporate Operational Risk Event Standards, and handle escalations to the relevant control committee. Align Operations with global and corporate initiatives for Risk Identification and Assessments. Perform proactive reviews to identify potential operational control risks. This position requires up to 10% domestic travel.


Minimum Education and Experience Required: This position requires a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience in Risk Advisory, Auditing, Compliance, Securities Operations, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of experience in lieu of a Master’s degree plus three (3) years of experience.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following skills: broker-dealer payments; broker-dealer system access; broker-dealer system and process migrations; broker-dealer third-party oversight; broker-dealer business resiliency processes and controls; broker-dealer operations including clearance and settlement for equities, fixed income, mutual funds, money markets, and alternative investments; U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC); Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA); international finance rules and regulations as applied to the U.S. and EMEA; interacting with regulators; and project management. This position requires up to 10% domestic travel.
