Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering, the AutoCAD Drafter (Residential Building) will perform a variety of design/drafting activities including preparing/updating installation drawings for projects, preparing drawings per specifications, and managing workload distribution within the CAD department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare dimensional drawings, installation drawings and complex drawings

Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes

Review blueprints, plans, specifications and other customer documentation if service is requested by project manager.

Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation for future reference.

Other duties as the need arises relating to CAD database maintenance.

 

Required Education and/or Experience:

Associates' degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field plus at least three (3) years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

CAD, Data CAD, Building System experience preferred

Good Working knowledge of computer/software

Retail Residential Construction Knowledge (Custom Home Building)

State requirements for MD, DE, VA

Able to generate layout drawings from sketches and blueprint specifications

Ability to work multi-functionally, to prioritize, and to perform efficiently in a medium to fast paced environment.
