Christiana Care, Primary Care Riverside Practice is looking for an Outpatient Medical Assistant.


ChristianaCare is looking for a medical assistant that has a passion to care for highly complex patients with underlying behavioral health conditions, and a medical assistant to work both in the office and in the community setting. In the community, the MA will assist with setting up telehealth visits and assist providers in completing healthcare visits from the patient's home.


Our intensive program is designed for the individual who struggles with a behavioral health condition and in addition, may have suboptimal physical and social health. In a welcoming environment, the program offers multidisciplinary treatment, including psychiatric and behavior therapy care, chronic condition and general health treatment, and comprehensive social health evaluation and intervention. Our specialists work together to quickly stabilize patients' health and then put long-term support in place with other providers and programs. The intention is to provide flexible, responsive care in a respectful, caring and supportive setting.


This role would be serving across three of our locations including, Wilmington Hospital-Gateway, Riverside Primary Care, and the Hope Center, in addition to being out in the community.

This position is responsible for assisting physicians in the examination and treatment of patients. To deliver quality patient care and to perform other clinical and clerical duties within the practice


Work Schedule:

The hours for the position are Monday- Friday 8:30-5 PM.

No weekends or holidays.



Rooms patients to include taking and recording patient vitals.

Performs point of care testing, injections, medication administration and EKGs as per practice needs.

Assist clinician with examinations/procedures

Prepares exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment

Completes necessary patient-specific paperwork as per practice needs

Ensures EMR is up-to-date with all pertinent test results in preparation for next visit

Handles patient call backs relaying information per the direction of provider

As per state guidelines, performs sterilization of medical equipment per practice needs

Handles prior authorizations, referrals, and medical refills based on practice needs

Schedules tests, procedures and surgeries as per practice needs.

Performs quality control on all POCT (point of care testing) equipment.


Education and Experience Requirements:

High School Graduate or Equivalent

A graduate of a recognized Medical Office Assistant Program or

Hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)

2 years' experience as a Medical Assistant, is preferred


Qualification Requirements:

Excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task, and prioritize work.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to build and foster professional relationships in a team environment.

Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software.

Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred but not required.
