The Role

The Senior Security Analyst will help grow Global Security Services’ Insider Risk Program by monitoring insider threat detection tools; conducting initial triage and investigation of leads and incidents; implementing, tuning and improving detection tools; and completing other Insider Risk Program duties as assigned.

1. Monitor, assess and respond to User Activity Monitoring (UAM) and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) alerts that could impact the security of Lumen data, facilities, employees, or operations worldwide.

2. Conduct preliminary investigations to assess the seriousness of leads and incidents by leveraging various databases, interviews, and open-source research.

3. Drive the implementation and improvement of insider threat detection tools through policy development, alert tuning, implementation of new feeds and capabilities, and identification of coverage gaps.

4. Develop and update Insider Risk Program policies, procedures, and metrics.

5. Coordinate with appropriate Legal teams to ensure Privacy laws and requirements are met.

6. Conduct due diligence research and investigation on individuals and organizations using a variety of open source and third-party resources to identify potential security risks.

The Main Responsibilities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required (education / experience / skills / competencies)

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field (e.g., criminal justice, psychology, intelligence analysis, data analysis, behavioral sciences, information security).

+ Minimum of 5 years’ experience working insider threat, information security, personnel security, counterintelligence, compliance investigations, or criminal/intelligence analysis in a corporate security, law enforcement, military, or government environment.

+ Experience using technology and automated tools to identify criminal, security, or information security violations.

+ Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze and manipulate complex security related data/threats and develop appropriate assessments and recommendations.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

What We Look For in a Candidate


+ Experience working with SIEMs, DLP and/or insider threat detection tools, particularly Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance tools.

+ Experience with insider threat investigations, criminal analysis and/or user behavior analysis.
