We work in the local plant connected to our global manufacturing network to ensure the highest quality of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.

Position Description

This Operations Technician position is available at our Company Animal Health facility in Millsboro, DE. Our Company’s Animal Health Division (AHD) is a BioTechnology Center of Excellence that performs vaccine production operations from antigen production through formulation, filling, and freeze drying. With expertise in mammalian, insect, and avian cell culture production (anchorage & non-anchorage dependent), live bird vaccine production, embryonated egg vaccine production, roller bottle vaccine production, bioreactor vaccine production, down-stream processing, formulation, and fill technologies (water in oil emulsions, aseptic filling, lyophilization, etc.), supplies and supports products for a wide range of species including poultry, equine, swine, bovine and companion animal.

+ The Millsboro facility is part of the global of our Company Animal Health Manufacturing Division network and is a key contributor to the manufacturing of animal health products.

+ Central Services is a production support department. General duties include cleaning, prepping and sterilization of glassware and equipment, decontamination of lab generated wastes, and the movement of materials into and out of production facilities

+ The position requires someone who can demonstrate excellent attention to detail and achieve a consistent error-free execution of daily job assignments, be able to complete documentation using Good Documentation Practices and be able to identify opportunities for process improvement and employ basic problem-solving skills.

+ The position also requires a strong safety mindset to be “Safe by Choice” and demonstrated experience of operating in a consistent safe manner at all times.

Education:

+ High School diploma or equivalent and 6+ months of applicable industry work experience required

Qualifications and Skills:

+ Proficient oral and written communication skills.

+ Able to follow/comply with Manufacturing Directions, Standard Operating Procedures, Company/Corporate/Regulatory Policies.

+ Can demonstrate basic skills in effective time management to meet given deadlines.

+ Ability to work effectively with team members and show initiative to assist others on the team when needed.

+ Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

+ Associates degree or equivalent in a Science or engineering discipline

+ Experience working in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment.

+ Experience with customer service

+ Experience using autoclaves and parts washers

+ Knowledge of aseptic processes used in manufacturing.

+ Experience using quality improvement tools and continuous improvement processes and site quality metrics.

Hours:

Rotating shifts 10am-6:30pm or 12pm-8:30pm, including weekends and holiday coverage per Production needs
